CONSEQUENCES OF LEAVING SOLAT

Assalamu'alaikum Wr Wb!

Alhamdulillah, I found some interesting and important facts about solat, including a hadith that truly frightens me, Masya'Allah. The hadith goes:

"Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said: "Salah (Solat) is a pillar of the religion (Islam). He who establishes it, establishes religion; and he who destroys it, destroys religion."
[Riwayat At-Tabrani]

In my early teenage years, I used to take solat lightly. Astarghfirullah. The hadith above just proved how IMPORTANT Solat is and how bad and SINFUL it is to leave solat.

I found this as well on the net. Now, this is indeed frightening for me as well. It is in Malay but I'll try my best to translate as accurately as possible. Insya'Allah. Correct me if I'm wrong.

AKIBAT MENINGGALKAN SOLAT MENGIKUT WAKTU :
(CONSEQUENCES OF LEAVING SOLAT ACCORDING TO PRAYER TIME):

SUBUH - dia akan disiksa selama 60 tahun di neraka (60,000 tahun dunia)
(he/she will be tortured/punished in hellfire for 60 years (60,000 earth years)

ZUHUR - dosanya seperti membunuh 1000 jiwa orang Islam
(the weight of the sins are like killing 1000 Muslim lives)

ASAR - dosanya seperti ia meruntuhkan Kaabah
(the weight of the sins are destroying the Kaabah)

MAGHRIB - dosanya seperti berzina dengan ibu atau bapanya sendiri
(the weight of the sins are committing incest/fornication with his/her own parent)

ISYA' - Allah tidak redha dia tinggal dibumi dan menggesa dia mencari bumi yang lain
(Allah wont accept his/her existence on earth and urges him to find another place)

To my brothers and sisters whom have reached the end of this post, spread the information to others and if I committed any mistakes, do correct me and I apologize. One more thing brothers and sisters, Solat is NOT a burden to us. It helps us. It beautifies and purifies our soul. Insya'Allah in my next post, I will share regarding the beauty of Solat but here's a sneak preview from the Holy Qur'an , Surah Al Ankabut : 45

"Verily, the prayer keeps one from the great sins and evil
deeds"

KHALID AL-WALID'S LOVE FOR THE PROPHET (P.B.U.H)

Assalamu'alaikum Wr Wb!

This video can bring tears especially the quote that says, "If Khalid's love went that far for a strand of the prophet's hair (p.b.u.h). How about you?" That is really a question we need to ask ourselves. Masya'Allah. Time for me to reflect. Subhanallah..

Jazakallahu Khair. Barakallahu Feek.

Rasulullah

Assalamu'alaikum Wr Wb readers!

Two poems to share here! 'Remember' and 'I wonder'. Very motivative, Alhamdulillah. Inspires me alot and make me realise alot too. Insya'Allah thru the poems below, we can reflect upon our love for Rasulullah s.a.w. I'd like to remind myself and urge my readers to remember the firman below and lets carry out as mentioned:

[Say (O’ Rasulullah): If you love Allah, then follow me. Allah will love you and forgive your sins; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (3:31) ]

REMEMBER..

When becoming humiliated, remember the Prophet (Peace be upon him) in Ta'if.

When being starved, remember the Prophet (Peace be upon him) tying two stones to his stomach in the battle of Khandaq.

When becoming angry, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) control of anger on the martyrdom of his beloved Uncle Hamza.

When losing a tooth, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) tooth in the battle of Uhud.

When bleeding from any part of the body, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) body covered in blood on his return from Ta'if.

When feeling lonely, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) seclusion in Mount Hira .

When feeling tired in Salaat, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) blessed feet in Tahajjud.

When being prickled with thorns, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) pain from Abu Lahab's wife.

When being troubled by neighbours, remember the old woman who would empty rubbish on the Prophet (Peace be upon him) .

When losing a child, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) son, Ibrahim.

When beginning a long journey, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) long journey to Madinah.

When going against a Sunnah, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) intercession, (Ummati, Ummati, Ummati) (My Ummah).

When sacrificing an animal, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) sacrifice of 63 animals for his Ummah.

Before shaving your beard, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) face rejecting the two beardless Iranians.

When falling into an argument with your wife, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) encounter with Aisha and Hafsa.

When experiencing less food in the house, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) days of poverty.

When experiencing poverty, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) advice to Ashaab-e-Suffa (People of Suffa).

When losing a family member, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) departure from this world.

When becoming an orphan, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) age at six

When sponsoring an orphan, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) sponsor for Zaid ibn Haritha.

When fearing an enemy, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) saying to Abu Bakr in Mount Thour. [Do not think that it is just the two of us, indeed Allah is the third amongst us.]

Whatever situation you may find yourself in, remember your role model, the best of creation: Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

I Wonder...

If Prophet Muhammad visited you Just for a day or two,
If He came unexpectedly, I wonder what you'd do.

Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room, To such an honored guest,
And all the food you'd serve Him , Would be the very best,

And you would keep assuring Him , You're glad to have Him there,
That serving Him in you home, Is joy beyond compare.

But.....when you saw Him coming, Would you meet Him at the door, With arms outstreched in welcome, To your visitor?
Or....would you have to change your clothes Before you let Him in?
Or hide some magazines and put, The Quran where they had been?

Would you still watch X-rated moives, On your T.V. set?
Or would you switch it off, before He gets upset?

Would you turn off the radio, And hope He hadn't heard?
And wish you hadn't uttered the last loud hasty word?

Would you hide your worldy music, And instead take Hadith books out?
Could you let Him walk right in, Or would you rush about?

And, I wonder.....if the Prophet spent, A day or two with you,
Would you go right on doing the things, You always do?

Would you go right on saying the things You always say?
Would life for you continue, As it does from day to day?

Would your family conversating, Keep up its usual pace,
And Would you find it hard each meal, To say a table grace?

Would you keep up each and every prayer? Without putting on a frown?
And would you always jump up early, For prayer at dawn?

Would you sing the songs you always sing, And read the books you read?
And let Him know the things on which, Your mind and spirit feed?

Would you take Prophet with you, Everywhere you plan to go?
Or, would you maybe change your plans, Just for a day or so?

Would you be glad to have Him meet, Your very closest friends?
Or, would you hope they stay away, Until His visit ends?

Would you be glad to have Him stay, Forever on and on?
Or would you sigh with great relief, When He at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know, The things that you would do.
If Prophet Muhammad , in person, came, to spend some time with you.

Jazakallahu Khair. Barakallahu Feek.

Life and Death

Assalamu'alaikum (Peace be upon to you) my readers! [LONG POST ALERT =)]

How are you today? Everyone fine today?? Alhamdulillah and may Allah grant all of you good health and happiness, Insya'Allah. In my previous post, I stated that I'll update next year right? Well, Alhamdulillah Allah has given me the opportunity and the time and the little knowledge to share with my readers about this topic -> Life and DEATH.

Err...some of you might wonder...why is did i type out DEATH in caps? Because, to me, it is something that people take forgranted and often see DEATH as insignificant or not a very important issue in their lives. I shall admit that in the past, I used to view death as insignificant, something that is very FAR from me, so I wont be too worried or think too much about it. But I was wrong and Alhamdulillah Allah showed me that my thoughts about it was COMPLETELY wrong. After watching some videos and reading some articles, I realised that Death can INVITE you ANYTIME.

My readers, let me state some misconceptions many people view death or dying as and yes I was one of those who had this misconceptions in the past.

1) You die only when you are old.
2) You die only when you are very ill.
3) Enjoy life to the fullest! Have Fun NOW! Practice Islam when you enter adulthood, then you prepare for death.

Brothers and Sisters, I am sure many of us have visited the graveyard. I'm not sure if some of you notice but do you notice that as you walk at the graveyard and you look at the tombstones on respective graves. Have you noticed the ages? Only ages above 50 or 60? NO! As you walk, you notice all kinds of ages. From infants to toddlers to children to teenagers to youths to young adults to adults to middle-aged adults to the elderly!

Which comes to my 1st point and 2nd point above, you dont die when you are old and you dont necessarily die when you are seriously ill. The thing is...you dont even know when you will die. There is no guarantee to the duration of your life. You can't guarantee that by the time you finish reading this sentence, you'll live. You can't guarantee that by the time you switch off your computer, you'll live. You can't guarantee that when you sleep, you'll wake up! Life and Death is not in your hands brothers and sisters, it has been written in Loh-i-mahfuz and the question to myself, Am I prepared for DEATH? you may want to ask yourselves that as well. I got some videos to share below. My third point will be explained by Imam Siraj Wahhaj in the video below. I hope you can spare some time to view them and benefit from them Insya'Allah.

Here's something that I found for you all and lets ensure with have this mentallity and belief:

"The Muslim realizes that the Angel of death could be behind him AT ANY TIME, that Jannah (Paradise) lies on his right and the fire of hell is on his left. The truth of his actions and their consequences are UNKNOWN to him and as he prays, his heart is moved by SINCERE intent to strive HARDER, work more, study more, forgive more and share more."

My brothers and sisters, let us constantly remind each other not to take for granted of LIFE Allah has given us. It is a privellege Allah has given us. Let us not abuse this opportunity and do good and practice Islam and if we commit sins, lets repent IMMEDIATELY and ask for forgiveness from Allah IMMEDIATELY before it is TOO LATE. We don't know when we will die and I am sure we dont want to regret not being able to be a good Muslim by the time we leave this Dunya. Insya'Allah that wont happen to us and May we recieve the blessings of Allah and granted with husnul khatimah.

I shall end with this,

" It is God [alone that has this power – He] who causes all human beings to die at the time of their [bodily] death, and [causes to be as dead], during their sleep, those that have not yet died: thus, He withholds [from life] those upon whom He has decreed death, and lets the others go free for a term set [by Him]. In [all] this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who think! "
(Az-Zumar:42)

And to end off the year 2009, lets start off 1431 H and 2010 M with this attitude as mentioned in Sura Al-An'am:162

"Say. Surely my prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are (all) for Allah, the Lord of the worlds."

Jazakallahu Khair. Barakallahu Feek

Akhlak

Assalamu'alaikum my brothers and sisters in Islam!

Ok. I've noticed that my blog posts are abit err...rigid. Haha. So I shall change the style I blog now! I shall come up with a topic or any topic my friends want to discuss and I'll blog about it! Insya'Allah.

But brothers and sisters, I am no Muslim Scholar...so! the posts that I write act only as a reminder to MYSELF and to my readers that are blessed by Allah s.w.t. Only Allah knows how many read this blog. Haha BUT that is not important! The important thing is we Muslims can share with each other and help each other and the things I write on my posts are the Words of Allah, Teachings of Rasulullah and Reminders by Muslim scholars like Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jailani. So..Insya'Allah it will help us in living our lives as Muslims in this World which is only TEMPORARY and achieve success in the hereafter. Amin! =)

Today! I've decided to post something about Akhlak.

What is Akhlak???

From my understanding...Akhlak can be understood as "ethics and morals" if translated from Arabic itself.

Err..ok..so?? how is Akhlak relevant to us as Muslims???

Basically, Akhlak is a fundemental that we need as Muslims! Ok..i shall not go into much detail. I'll just give an overview. Imagine us, an individual as a TREE. Akhlak is our kindness, our attitude, our morals and they are like the Fruits that grow from a Tree. So we are a tree and our fruits are our akhlak. Hence, of course we want to look as attractive as possible right?? Who likes to see a tree thats all dried up?? Therefore we must have proper akhlak to beautify us spritually and beautify our identity! Before I go back to this analogy I shall explain about two main roots of Akhlak..which is Traits of Mahmudah and Traits of Mazmumah.

Huh? What's this Mahmudah and Mazmumah???

Well...Mahmudah are traits that are respected and praiseworthy! and some examples of this character or traits are below:

a) honest
b) sincere
c) trustworthy
d) judging well (having only good thoughts about a person)
e) forgiving
f) generous
g) syukur (thankful and show gratitude to Allah)
h) tolerance
i) patience
j) redha and tawakkal
k) brave
l) gentle and kind
m) caring
n) helpful
o) always thinking of the hereafter
p) AND MANY OTHER GOOD ATTRIBUTES!

And Mazmumah on the other hand are traits or attributes that are shameful and bad. Some of them are below:

a) Arrogance, Boastfulness, Cocky, Egoistic etc. or anything that is equivalent to the terms (riyak, ujub, takabur)
b) high forms of envy (dengki)
c) anger
d) revengeful
e) judging bad about others
f) stingy
g) materialstic
h) obsessed with dunya (this world) and not think of the hereafter
i) believe me, THERE IS MORE! I know that you all know

So what about these two attributes??? what about Mahmudah and Mazmumah??

So here it is, as Muslims we must have ONLY traits of Mahmudah. We must reflect and if we still find there is still traits of Mazmumah that are existing in us...what are you waiting for?? Quick go get rid of it! Insya'Allah it won't be difficult to get rid of Mazmumah and it will be easy to achieve Mahmudah. So now I shall get back to my anology. A person having traits of Mahmudah or traits as such are like a tree that is beautified with fruits and Masya'Allah the tree is so distinctive and likeable that people cannot hate it and would want to get a fruit from the tree. That is how WE MUSLIMS are suppose to be. Our Akhlak has to be at top form so that people like us and not hate us as Individuals or as an ummah. Our Akhlak can impact people and actually attract them to Islam. Islam is a beautiful religion who teaches peace and beautiful concepts. Rasulullah P.B.U.H owns the best form of Akhlak! Masya'Allah and even Sayiditina Aisyah mentioned that Rasulullah P.B.U.H has the Akhlak of Al-Qur'an because He is perfect in so many ways and He is loved and likeable by so many including the non-muslims who knew him. Look at Abu Sufyan who hated him but in the end accepted Islam. It is Rasulullah's beautiful Akhlak that attract the attention and hearts of many. Subhanallah.

So I'm here to remind myself and my brothers and sisters in Islam that being a Muslim is not just an honour, its a RESPONSIBILITY. Islam teaches Peace and Rasulullah's akhlak is an example to follow. Rasulullah displays beautiful attributes and teaches us alot about Akhlak. So! we must make sure that as Muslims, we are suppose to be examples and show Islam thru our ACTIONS Insya'Allah. NOT JUST OUR WORDS. Because Actions, SPEAK WAY LOUDER than words. May Allah Bless All of You. =)

Barakallahufeek. Peace be upon All,
Nabil

Status of Women in Islam

Assalamu'alaikum WR WB,

Today, I've decided to write a post about the Status of Women in Islam. This is due to my disappointment and unhappiness towards the attitude of some of my male friends and how they view a girl, lady or woman.

For those of you who agree with me, I'm sure you have heard many guys out there saying stuffs like this about girls such as, "oh my! she's hot!", "look at that figure!", "she's gorgeous and sexy!", "I rate her 10/10!" and so on. I am truly sick and tired of having to hear all these. Astarghfirullah. What a shame to those who say those! How dare you view females as such! How dare you rate them! Please, guys, women are not goods where you can look at them like items, comment on their looks, rate them like items, judge their beauty and so on. They are supposed to be treated with respect and kindness and not to be uttered about like goods or items. Astarghfirullah.

Guys, Islam honours women greatly. It honours women who must be respected and treated with kindness. The Prophet s.a.w said: "I urge you to treat women well" - Sahih Al bukhari

The Prophet s.a.w. came at a time when women had no status and rights, and were looked at as cheap items. But the Prophet s.a.w. listened to their woes and took serious note of their conditions. He raised the status of women by reminding mankind of the important role of women. Islam honours women as mothers, as wives, as daughters, as sisters and as aunts. Hence, my friends, let us not stray away from the teachings of Rasulullah and the sacrifices and efforts our beloved Prophet made to raise the status of women so that we, the ummah, treat them with respect and kindness. Don't allow the ummah to return to the age of Jahiliyah where women are treated without respect and humility, like what is going to happen again if we males remain to comment and treat women like items and goods.

Islam raised the status of women, and made them equal with men in most rulings. So women, like men, are commanded to believe in Allah and to worship Him. And women are made equal to men in terms of reward in the Hereafter. Women have the right to express themselves, to give sincere advice, to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, and to call people to Allah. Women have the right to a decent life, without facing aggression or being wronged.

So guys, stop! Stop all those wrongdoings of rating them and treating them like objects or items, commenting on their looks and more. They are human beings - creations of Allah S.W.T. Treat them and respect them like how Rasulullah s.a.w has taught us to. Masya'Allah.

Jazakallahu Khairan wa Barakallahufeek,
-Nabil
